Make the web better, save a lemur
Those last years, big guys find it trendy or fashionable to get an inspiration from a Madagascar-related item… We all know the dreamworks cartoons (Madagascar, Madagascar 2-escape to africa, Merry Madagascar), now we have my favorite browser AKA Firefox who codenamed its next release Namoroka – inspired from a park in the north-west of Madagascar
Not only do Firefox provide the best internet browser, but they also added a really cool bonus for us Malagasy people (and Madagascar Fans) by baptizing its next release with this Namoroka name.Firefox guys, you’ve given me a definite reason to be a faithful fan
But there’s more behind this action from Firefox as they are expecting to raise USD10000 from this launch that will be assigned to preserving the actual Namoroka park. If you want to join the ride, you’ve got up to the end of January to donate
This is kind of ironic, here in Madagascar a fox-like animal called Fosa is known for chasing the lemurs, while on the internet, Firefox rescues them.
So for those who want to know more about this Namoroka Park, it’s situated in the North-West of Madagascar, where it’s the least accessible place when it comes to roads.
Namoroka is home to 31 endemic bird species and 106 endemic plants, but travelers will probably remember it for its “Tsingy”
Useful travel tips tell us that it’s better travellers go there between May and October (which is the dry season), and that due to taboos, you should not bring pork meats and peanuts.
Now, you know what to do:
- either spread the word about Namoroka Park
- be ready to download and use the 3.6 release of Mozilla Firefox
- or plan your next travel to Madagascar
Either way, enjoy your internet browsing

I like the contrast between Fosa and Firefox lol.
I hope their action will have effect on the inhabitants as well because there must be people living around it and have it as livelyhood.

@Tahina: lol…in fact they are giving the 10000USD to a NGO called savethelemur.org
