THB is THE beer when you are in Madagascar, and you can almost find it even in the deepest countryside. Malagasy people has a long romance with this blond pilsener beer. The standard ABV for the usual THB beer is 5,4%.
This Easter holiday is the time for launching a new and stronger beer with an ABV of 6,2% (almost similar to the Gold which has an ABV of 6,5%).
This new beer will surely be served abundantly on its 65cl format during the Antsirabe’s Easter feast (as well as in other cities, suburbs and touristic places that Madagascar has).
The last two years has seen the import of Mauritian beers (Phenix and Efes) to the malagasy market. Moreover, due to some restructuring in the Brasseries Star’s product offering, the THB range has widened to THB Fresh (a panachée that comes in 4 flavours: neutral, mentos, strawberry and apple ) as well as the lighter version simply called THB lite (ABV of 1%)
While occidental people use to buy beer in set of 6 cans, Malagasy people usually buy it under the 65cl format (which is the most widely distributed inside the country.
Have you tasted this new beer? What do you think of it? What’s your appreciation of THB beer in general. Feel free to leave your feedback on the comment section of this post.
